Black II was the only solid black offered in the standard color range of the BMW E46 M3 and remained available throughout the model's entire production run.
As the name suggests, it is a straightforward, pure black without any metallic effect or noticeable undertones, unlike Carbon Black Metallic, the other black option available on the E46 M3, which has a subtle blue tint that can become visible under certain lighting conditions.
This makes Black II the more traditional choice of the two: a simple, deep black that remains consistently black regardless of the lighting.
