Silver Grey Metallic was introduced to the BMW E46 M3 range in March 2003, replacing Steel Grey Metallic midway through the model's production cycle. It remained available for the rest of the E46 M3's production and was also offered on the lightweight M3 CSL.
The color is a relatively light metallic grey with a clean silver appearance, sitting noticeably brighter than the darker Steel Grey it replaced. Its fine metallic flake gives the paint depth and allows the shade to become particularly reflective in direct sunlight.
Silver Grey Metallic became one of the defining colors of the later E46 M3 and remains closely associated with the M3 CSL.
